Philip Garrido : rear of residence not scrutinized for EIGHTEEN YEARS !

Antioch, I’m told just now, has a larger than normal proportion of SOs. This should have put Antioch on alert for making sure they had in place a procedure of supervision to ensure that we are all well protected from these beasts. Especially young girls and women. For eighteen years they supervised Phillip Craig Garrido, a serious offender and known addict of sex with violence, and never went out in the garden or backyard. It beggars belief. With such a high portion of registered sex offenders in the district you would think the authorities would prioritise the need for an effective system of supervision.

Managing to keep Jaycee and her children on his property undetected for all those years beggars belief. The children were nearby in the rear garden during the regular visits to the property by the parole services. I’m feeling very wary of the explanation the parole office will give us as to why their visits never revealed the presence of the girls. Please don’t let it be his right to privacy! If this is the reason given by the parole service as to why no examination was carried out. They haven’t put this forward yet. But I can hear it being muted in the background already!

The whole thing is shocking!

It’s reported in the media comments about how underfunded, undermanned and overworked the various departments are that have been working on this case for the last eighteen years. The FBI, the Sherif’s dept and the Parole Services. And pray tell me the connection between being undermanned and with an officer from the parole office or the police investigating the yard? The failure to check his garden and backyard when neighbors have reported hearing children’s voices in the backyard, that people were living in the backyard, has absolutely nothing to do with man hours, workload, underfunding or anything else that may be put forward as a reason why this appalling situation went undetected by the authorities for 18years.

I still can’t take all this in! Shock!. Those poor poor girls should never have had to endure those years of captivity. There was just no need.

What do you think?
