Phillip Garrido, on parole after a serious sex conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. Aged 11 years old Jaycee’s torment began by her home in South Lake Tahoe, California when she was snatched by a women and dragged off in a car. Altogether Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy Garrido face 29 felony charges, including forcible abduction, rape and false imprisonment.
El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA holds Phillip Garrido while he awaits trial. From the district Attorney’s Office in El Dorado County we are told that Garrido can watch his case unravel on TV and through periodicals.
We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.
In an incredulous letter to Sacramento Television Station KCRA, Phillip Garrido complains that Jaycee Lee Dugard’s rights are being abused. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Garrido asked that they contact her at the earliest possible date.
Can you believe what you are reading?
So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?
What we are seeing here is Phillip Garrido’s rights. The prisoner’s rights. Phillip Garrido’s civil right to TV and thereby keeping abreast with his saga. Phillip Garrido is given the opportunity to communicate and air his views and opinions to the media. In this case he posted a letter to the TV company. Garrido’s thoughts and ideas will soon be in the public domain and Garrido knows this.
The Dugard family are going to see it or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.
Let us be very open about this. This is all about Phillip Garrido’s right to carry on his abuse and torment of Jaycee Lee Dugard and the whole Dugard family.
Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family need our total protection. We mustn’t let them down again.
So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?
Do our civil rights count for anything? What about the rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard and her tragic family? What about the victim’s rights? What about our rights to protection from animals like Garrido?
