Phillip Garrido, on parole after a serious sex conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. Jaycee was kidnapped from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Today Phillip and Nancy Garrido both refute the 29 felony charges leveled against them and await trial.
El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA detains Phillip Garrido while he awaits trial. From the district Attorney’s Office in El Dorado County we are told that Garrido can watch his saga unfold on television and through periodicals.
We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.
Garrido wrote a letter, postmarked September 29th, to Sacramento Television Station KCRA complaining that Jaycee Lee Dugard's civil rights had been abused. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Phillip Garrido asked that they contact her at the soonest possible date.
Can you believe what you are reading?
So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?
This appears to be all about Phillip Garrido's rights. The prisoner’s rights. Liberals have given him the right to follow every aspect of his story as it is reported and unfolds on television. His right to communicate with the media. Putting his ideas on paper and sending them to KCRA. Garrido's thoughts and ideas will soon be in the public domain and he knows this.
The Dugard family are going to see it or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.
What are the controversial points here? It’s all about Phillip Garrido's right to continue his abuse and torment of Jaycee Lee Dugard and the whole Dugard family.
We've severely let down Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family over the last 18 years and we are still letting them down by not protecting them from this monster.
So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?
Do our rights count for anything? What about the civil rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard and her tragic family? What about the victim’s rights? What about our rights to protection from monsters like Garrido?
