Phillip Garrido, on parole after a serious sex conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. At 11 years old Jaycee’s torment began outside her home in South Lake Tahoe, California when she was kidnapped by a women and dragged off in a car. Altogether he and his wife Nancy Garrido face 29 felony charges, including forcible abduction, rape and false imprisonment.
El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA holds Phillip Garrido while he awaits trial. Phillip Garrido is continually up to date with the progress of his reports in the media because he can view television and periodicals in Jail.
We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.
Garrido posted a letter, postmarked September 29th, to Sacramento Television Station KCRA complaining that Jaycee Lee Dugard's rights had been violated. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Garrido requested that they contact her at the soonest possible date.
Can you believe what you are reading?
So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?
What we are looking at here is Garrido's civil rights. The criminal’s rights. Garrido's right to television and thereby keeping abreast with his case. He is allowed the freedom to communicate and give his views and opinions to the media. Writing to KCRA and airing his ideas. The TV company will jump at the chance to show its contents and Garrido knows this.
The Dugard family are going to see it or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.
Let us be very open about this. This is all about Garrido's right to carry on his abuse and torment of Jaycee Lee Dugard and the whole Dugard family.
We've badly let down Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family over the last Eighteen years and we are still letting them down by not shielding them from this monster.
So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?
What about our rights? What about the civil rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard and her tragic family? What about the victim’s rights? The right to be safeguarded from such beasts as Garrido!
