Phillip Garrido, on parole after a violent rape conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. Aged 11 years old Jaycee’s torment began outside her home in South Lake Tahoe, California when she was kidnapped by a women and dragged off in a car. Altogether Garrido and his wife Nancy Garrido face 29 felony charges, which includes forcible abduction, rape and false imprisonment.
El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA detains Phillip Garrido pending his trial. From the district Attorney’s Office in El Dorado County we are told that Garrido can watch his saga unfold on television and through periodicals.
We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.
In an unbelievable letter to Sacramento Television Station KCRA, Phillip Garrido complains that Jaycee Lee Dugard's rights are being abused. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Garrido asked that they contact Jaycee Dugard at the earliest possible date.
Can you believe what you are reading?
So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?
This looks to be all about Phillip Garrido's rights. The convict’s rights. Garrido's civil right to television and thereby keeping up with his story. It appears Phillip Garrido can discuss his case with the media via face to face interviews, telephone calls and by letter. Putting his ideas on paper and sending them to KCRA. Phillip Garrido's thoughts and ideas will soon be in the public eye and Garrido knows this.
The Dugard family are going to see it or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.
Let us be very crystal clear about this. This is all about Garrido’s right to carry on his abuse and torment of Jaycee Lee Dugard and the whole Dugard family.
We've badly let down Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family over the last Eighteen years and we are still letting them down by not protecting them from this monster.
So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?
Do our civil rights count for anything? What about the rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard and her tragic family? What about the victim’s rights? We all have the right to expect protection from beasts like Garrido!
