Phillip Garrido, on parole after a serious sex conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. Dugard’s stepfather watched helplessly as she was dragged into a vehicle by a woman within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Altogether Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy Garrido face 29 felony charges, including forcible abduction, rape and false imprisonment.
Phillip Garrido stays in custody at the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA as he and his wife Nancy Garrido await trial. Bill Clark, chief assistant district attorney in El Dorado County, said Garrido can view TV and periodicals in jail and knows what's unfolding with his story.
We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.
In an astonishing letter to Sacramento Television Station KCRA, Phillip Garrido complains that Jaycee Lee Dugard’s rights are being violated. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Phillip Garrido requested that they contact her at the soonest possible date.
Can you believe what you are reading?
So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?
What we are looking at here is Garrido’s civil rights. The convict’s rights. Garrido’s civil right to television and thereby keeping up with his story. Apparently Garrido can discuss his case with the media via face to face interviews, telephone calls and by letter. Writing to KCRA and airing his thoughts. The Television company will spring at the chance to show its contents and Phillip Garrido knows this.
The Dugard family are bound to see the letter or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.
So what exactly are we dealing with here? This boils down to Phillip Garrido’s right to continue his defilement of Jaycee and her family.
We’ve badly let down Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family over the last 18 years and we are still letting them down by not safeguarding them from this monster.
So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?
What about our rights? What about the civil rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard and her long suffering family? What about the victim’s rights? The right to be shielded from such beasts as Garrido!
